Lenore DePree's latest work

2012 marks my twentieth year of painting in the North Carolina mountains. It has been an artistic journey from authentic Persian manuscript art, through transitional work into soft realism--and then the breakthrough into a post-modern contemporary style composed of all the above.

Finally, I have "arrived" at a work mode which I feel has historic bones and a broad freedom of expression.

My website will allow you to explore paintings that are currently available in the gallery and see those recently sold to collectors. "In the Bin" displays prints still in stock and ordering information.

I have made Ashe County and West Jefferson my home. You are also invited to see what it means to be an artist in a community through my public works, viewed in the Archive section. One of my largest public works is located at the Mount Jefferson Presbyterian Church.

The artist can generally be found at Originals Only gallery in downtown West Jefferson, Thursday through Saturday, 10-5. Stop by and say hello!
